Perth: Yashasvi Jaiswal has created history by becoming the first batsman to play the biggest innings for India in Perth. Remarkably, he has surpassed none other than Sunil Gavaskar. Gavaskar had scored a century of 127 runs here in 1977. Since then, the record for the highest individual score for India in Perth was held by him. However, Yashasvi Jaiswal has now broken this special record by scoring 128 runs, making him the first Indian batsman to achieve the highest individual score in Test cricket at Perth.

India’s Strong Start in the Second Innings
On the second day, Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul laid a solid foundation for India with a steady partnership of 172 runs for the first wicket. Both batsmen played patient innings, with KL Rahul contributing a well-made half-century. Their efforts helped India take a commanding total lead of 218 runs by the end of Day 2.

Indian captain Jasprit Bumrah delivered an exceptional performance with the ball, achieving the feat of taking five wickets in an innings for the 11th time in his Test career. His bowling heroics restricted Australia to just 104 runs in their first innings.
