Cummins has attributed the win to Head’s 140-run performance. During the post-match press conference, Cummins recognized the significance of Head’s counter-attacking performance and highlighted how Head’s innings consistently strained the other Indian bowlers, including Jasprit Bumrah.

Australia staged an impressive recovery following their loss in the last match, overcoming India in the day-night test to equalize the five-match test series at 1-1. Regarding the second test match, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bat initially.

Batting first, India’s team made a total of 180 runs. In response, Australia accumulated 337 runs during their first innings and gained a lead of 157 runs. India’s second innings concluded at 175 runs, giving Rohit and his team an advantage of 18 runs. Australia reached the goal of 19 runs without losing a single wicket.
