Yashasvi Jaiswal record in test: In the second innings of the Sydney Test match, Yashasvi Jaiswal batted with fiery intent right from the very first over and scored a total of 16 runs off Mitchell Starc. Starc bowled the first over to India in the second innings. On the second ball of the over, Jaiswal played a cut shot and scored a four towards third man. On the next ball, the young Indian batsman created a sensation by hitting two fours on consecutive deliveries—first a four at deep backward point, and then another four towards deep backward point with a backfoot punch on a length ball outside the off stump. Jaiswal achieved the remarkable feat of hitting three fours in three consecutive balls.
To finish off the over, Jaiswal drove the last ball towards deep cover for another four, bringing his total to 16 runs in the over. This marks the first time in the history of Indian Test cricket that a batsman has scored 16 runs in the first over of the innings.
