India Squad for England T20I: In 2025, the Indian cricket team’s first challenge will be against England. The India vs England T20 series is set to begin on January 22, followed by a three-match ODI series between the two nations. Soon after, the Champions Trophy 2025 will take place. For now, Team India is focusing on the T20 series. A new update reveals that the selectors will hold a meeting on January 11 to decide the team lineup.
The T20 squad will likely include most of the players who went on the South African tour. Some senior players who regularly feature in Test cricket may be rested, giving younger players a chance to prove themselves. A similar approach may be used for the ODI team as part of preparations for the Champions Trophy.
Gaikwad and Sudharsan In, Pant and Abhishek Out
According to India Today, Riyan Parag is set to return to the Indian team after recovering from a shoulder injury. He may replace Abhishek Sharma, who has struggled with consistency in his performances over the past three T20 series. Shivam Dube might be swapped for Ramandeep Singh, while Axar Patel, Varun Chakraborty, and Ravi Bishnoi are likely confirmed in the spin department. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Sai Sudharsan may also find spots in the squad.
