In reply, New Zealand, in pursuit of the 250-run target, was bowled out for 205 runs in 43.5 overs, allowing India to secure the match. Following the loss of the toss, Team India began their innings poorly, with the top order dismissed for a mere 30 runs. However, Shreyas Iyer, who entered the fray at number four, stabilized the innings and forged a remarkable partnership with Axar Patel. Iyer played a commendable innings, scoring 79 runs, which helped India recover.
