New Delhi: The 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) will kick off with a high-voltage clash between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on March 22 at Eden Gardens. However, ahead of the season, RCB’s Unbox Event has sparked major controversy, leaving fans frustrated.
RCB’s Grand Unbox Event Leaves Fans Disappointed
RCB hosted their traditional Unbox Event at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on March 17, attracting a massive crowd eager to see Virat Kohli and other players. The event featured performances by various artists, followed by the players making an appearance on the field, engaging with fans, and tossing balls into the stands as gifts. The event was live-streamed on RCB’s official website and app.
However, what was meant to be an exciting experience quickly turned sour, as several fans accused RCB of scamming them.
Fans Outraged Over Poor Live Streaming Quality
RCB charged a ₹99 subscription fee for fans to watch the live stream of the event. Unfortunately, many users were disappointed with the poor video quality, bad camera angles, and overall streaming experience. Upset fans took to social media to express their frustration.
A user on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) wrote, “RCB scammed us for ₹100! Refund the money of those who watched this nonsense.” Another user commented, “This was not worth my money. The quality was terrible!” Many fans were left feeling cheated and demanded refunds for their subscriptions.
