The Titans have established themselves as one of the league’s most reliable teams, having won the championship in 2022 and nearly defending it in 2023, only to lose a nail-biting final to CSK. However, the 2024 season proved challenging, as they did not qualify for the final for the first time in their IPL journey. As they enter the 18th edition of the league, Gujarat aims to capture their second title.
In contrast, Punjab Kings have struggled historically, being one of the less successful franchises in IPL. Their best performance was reaching the semi-finals in 2008, and they finished as runners-up in 2014. Since then, they have not made it to the playoffs in any season. With a new captain at the helm, the Punjab team is determined to turn their fortunes around.
