Two big names in the race for the captaincy of Mumbai Indians
Hardik Pandya, who was out of the first match due to the BCCI ban, will be replaced by another player as captain, for which two names are being considered in the race. It is expected that former captain Rohit Sharma can be given the command of the first match.
The second name Surya Kumar Yadav is in discussion. If for some reason Rohit Sharma has not taken over the responsibility of the captain, then Surya Kumar Yadav can be given this command. Surya Kumar Yadav is also the regular captain of India in the international T20 format.

Hardik Pandya’s exclusion from the first match of IPL 2025 is a big setback for Mumbai Indians.
