BCCI on Gautam Gambhir and Rohit Sharma: BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla has dismissed media reports claiming differences between chief selector Ajit Agarkar, head coach Gautam Gambhir, and captain Rohit Sharma following India’s 1-3 loss to Australia. Speaking at the inaugural Kho-Kho World Cup in New Delhi, Shukla stated that the reports were false. He further clarified that there was no rift between Gambhir and Rohit.
Rajeev Shukla Denies Differences Between Gambhir and Rohit
Rohit Sharma managed to score only 31 runs in three matches during the Australia series. During this time, it was reported that Gautam Gambhir had warned senior players to either perform well or face the possibility of being dropped. Speculation also arose about a rift between Rohit and Gambhir.
BCCI Vice-President Shukla Calls Reports False
In response to these reports, BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla dismissed them as completely false. Shukla stated that there are always ups and downs in a player’s form, and such phases are part of a player’s career. He clarified that when Rohit felt out of form, he decided to opt out of the Sydney Test, but there were no personal issues between him and Gambhir.

Shukla Clears the Air on Team Dynamics
Rajeev Shukla also addressed rumours of a rift between Ajit Agarkar, the coach, and the captain. He firmly stated that there were no differences between the coach, the captain, or the selector, calling the reports spreading such rumours “nonsense.”

Team Selection for ICC Champions Trophy
Shukla confirmed that the team for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy will be selected on January 18 or 19. The tournament, which will take place from February 19 to March 9, will be held under a hybrid model in Pakistan and the UAE, with all of India’s matches to be played in the UAE
