Bumrah had captained India in the first match of the series in Perth, where the team secured a massive 295-run victory under his leadership. The news of his injury and subsequent hospital visit emerged shortly thereafter.

Bumrah Claims 2 Wickets Before Injury

Bumrah bowled his last over in the 31st of the match when Australia had lost 5 wickets. Despite Bumrah’s absence (Jasprit Bumrah Injury), other bowlers stepped up and claimed the remaining wickets within the next 20 overs. Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj took three wickets each, while Nitish Reddy took two. Before leaving the field, Bumrah had already taken 2 of Australia’s first 5 wickets. His total wicket count in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy now stands at 32.
