KKR IPL 2025: IPL 2025 has created a lot of buzz around social media platforms, especially after the Mega Auction, which is held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Cricket fans were enthusiastic about the last season’s title holder, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), team-building process. They have retained Rinku Singh, Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Harshit Rana, Varun Chakravarthy, and Ramandeep Singh before the auction. Venky Mysore and Co. have roped in Vaibhav Arora, Anukul Roy, and Angkrish Raghuvanshi, who were also a part of the IPL 2024 team. KKR management tried to hold on to their previous season squad as much as possible. Despite conversations, Shreyas Iyer, KKR skipper for IPL 2024, and the Knight management did not find them on the same note, resulting in the departure of Indian star batter from Kolkata. KKR has yet to announce their new captain’s name. Unlike relying on individual brilliancy, KKR always supports the young talents like Rinku Singh, Harshit Rana, Vaibhav Arora, and many others if we count from the beginning of the Indian Premier League. Rinku and Harshit have already paved their path to the national camp. There are lots of talented cricketers in the current KKR camp who have the potential to make their name in the future.
Angkrish Raghuvanshi
The 20-year-old batter from Delhi has already shown what he can do with his bat in the IPL 2024. He played ten matches in that season for KKR with a highest score of 54 and a total of 163 runs. Raghuvanshi’s strike rate during this time, 155.24, spoke a lot about his T20 playing capabilities.
Ramandeep Singh
Like Harshit Rana, Ramandeep Singh also made his international debut after an impressive performance with the Kolkata Knight Riders. His was retained by KKR before the auction; that shows how much the franchise officials have trust in the 27-year-old, Chandigarh-born batting all-rounder. Ramadeep played 14 matches in IPL 2024 with an average of 31.25.
Vaibhav Arora
The 26-year-old Haryana-born Vaibhav Arora is waiting for his debut moment for Team India. Arora had played a crucial role in IPL 2024, pairing up with Harshit Rana, who has already made his debut for India. KKR management did not hesitate to retain the talent pacer in the mega auction. Arora claimed a total of 11 wickets in matches he played for the Kolkata-based team in the previous IPL season.
Anukul Roy
Anukul Roy, who turned 26 on November 30, is another highly potential cricketer in the KKR camp. The all-rounder, mainly known for his bowling skills, had played only four IPL matches in 2024. This cricketer from Jharkhand will be desperate to make him a starter for the champion side.
Umran Malik
Umran Malik, whose fastest ball ever record is 157 km/h, needs no introduction. Malik, hailing from Jammu and Kashmir, was once considered one of the most talented fast bowlers in the Indian cricket field. Despite playing several ODIs and T20Is, he always struggled to maintain his form. As a result, Malik soon dropped from Team India and out of the limelight. KKR management has shown trust in him and included him in the squad for IPL 2025. It will be interesting to see whether Malik can show his capabilities again on the 22-yard or not.
