MS Dhoni: Mahendra Singh Dhoni is regarded as one of India’s most esteemed cricket captains. During his tenure, the Indian team secured victories in the T20 World Cup, ICC ODI World Cup, and the Champions Trophy. Additionally, he has led the Chennai Super Kings to five IPL titles. At 43 years old, he is set to participate in the upcoming IPL season as an uncapped player. Ahead of IPL 2025, Dhoni has made remarks concerning his fitness.

Dhoni spoked about his fitness level

Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket in 2020, yet he is gearing up for the 18th season of the IPL. He acknowledged that he is not as fit as he once was, stating that maintaining fitness now requires significant effort regarding his diet, and he is undertaking specific measures to stay in shape for cricket. He noted that, unlike fast bowlers, his fitness requirements are not as demanding.

Dhoni stated about social media and cricket career

“I have never been particularly fond of social media. I had various managers who encouraged me to engage more. I began my career in 2004, around the time Twitter and Instagram were gaining traction, and they insisted I should enhance my public relations. However, my stance remained unchanged: if I perform well on the field, I don’t need to worry about PR. I believe that if I focus on my cricket, everything else will fall into place,” Dhoni shared during Eurogrip Tyres’ ‘Trade Talks’.

He expressed that he had anticipated more time to adjust, but it is somewhat disappointing that he did not have that opportunity. Dhoni mentioned that he does not miss international cricket, as he firmly believes in making decisions thoughtfully. Once a decision is made, he sees no value in dwelling on it. He expressed gratitude for the contributions he has made to his country, feeling content with the blessings he has received.
