Former cricketer and current commentator Sanjay Manjrekar have said something about team India captain Rohit Sharma, who scored a half century in the third day of the third Test between India and New Zealand in Bengaluru. Sanjay has compared Rohit with former team India captain MS Dhoni.

Indian batting line-up looked promising in day three as Rohit, Virat Kohli and Sarfaraz Khan have started counter attack against the New Zealand Bowlers. Specially Sarfaraz Khan, who could not open the account in the first innings, but corrected his mistake in the second innings and helped the team to take the team closer to New Zealand’s score in the half-century. He remained unbeaten on 70 off 78 balls with seven fours and three sixes on the third day. He added 136 runs for the third wicket with Virat Kohli, who scored 70 before being dismissed by Glenn Phillips at the end of the day’s play.

After bowling out India for 46 in the first innings, New Zealand scored 401 runs against India and had a lead of 356 runs. However, at the end of the third day’s play, India’s lead was reduced to 125 runs. Team India scored 231 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in the second innings. Sarfaraz Khan is at the crease. Rohit Sharma scored 52 runs with 63 ball.

Manjrekar took to X and said, “Dhoni had this very unique ability to preempt & make a bowling change before the damage went out of control. Rohit needs to bring that quality into his leadership.”

India able to score only 46 runs with all ten wickets. New Zealand batters took their team to 402/10. Devon Conway missed his century for 9 runs, Rachin Ravindra have played an innings of 134 runs. Veteran Tim Southee 65 runs helped New Zealand to past 400 runs landmark.
