There are lots of discussions between cricket fans before the IPL 2025 Mega Auction. All teams have to sumbit the retention players list by the end of this month. Last season’s title holder, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), also has to sumbit the names of cricketers they are willing to hold for another season. There are many big names in Knight Camp, like Andre Russell, Sunil Narine, Rinku Sing, the Iyer Brothers (Shreyas Iyer, Venkatesh Iyer), Mitchell Starc, Phil Salt, etc.

A 19-year-old batter who made an impact within a short period, KKR management may have to think about him twice before finalising the retention players list. All teams can retain only six players from their last season’s squad.

We are talking about Angkrish Raghuvanshi, who, at only 19, had shown some firepower during IPL 2024, scored a half century in his IPL debut season. Angkrish Raghuvanshi played 10 matches for the Kolkata Knight Riders and scored a total of 163 runs at a strike rate of 155.23. His highest score was against the Delhi Capitals, 54. His strike shows his ability to hit the ball to the boundary line.

During the IPL 2024, Angkrish hit 16 boundaries and 8 over boundaries. If we take a glance at last season’s stats, Angkrish Raghuvanshi has better numbers than Rinku Singh. Rinku had scored 168 runs in 15 matches, while Angkrish Raghuvanshi had 163 for 10 matches. KKR mainly kept deep into their batting lineup for some power hitting, where Angkrish from Delhi had performed mainly as a middle order batter who can score quick runs.

There is no second opinion about Raghuvanshi’s potential. Kolkata Knight Riders can show faith in this young talent.
