Washington Sundar has been called up to the national camp, but there is no update on any other player. The Indian team has strengthened their spin unit in the remaining two matches of the series. The second match of the series will be played in Pune, and the third match will be played in Mumbai.
After last BGT, Ravi Shastri said Washington Sundar should be batting at number 3 for Tamil Nadu because he has so much potential.
Today came to bat at no. 3 and he smashed hundred. He has the skills to bat in top 5 in test matches.pic.twitter.com/k1NLesW4LK

According to some reports, it is believed that the match in Pune will be played on a wicket made of black clay. Where spin bowlers are expected to dominate more. That is why the BCCI has included Sundar in the squad for the remaining two matches of this series. Sundar last played a Test for India against England in 2021.
Washington Sundar has performed well with the bat in the recent Ranji Trophy. Batting at number three for Tamil Nadu, he scored 152 runs off 269 balls. His innings included 19 boundaries and one overboundary.
Sundar can be with bat and ball. So he can be a good option as an all-rounder. Team India has several experience all-rounders in the second for the ongoing New Zealand test series. But none of them shine in Bengaluru. Captain Rohit Sharma surprisingly ignored experience Ravichandran Ashwin at a crucial moment. Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav had the opportunity to do something special for the team. Speculations are also there for KL Rahul, who managed to score a total of only 12 runs in the Bengaluru Test. While other middle-order batters like Virat Kohli, Sarfaraz Khan, and Rishabh Pant have shown their class in the second inning.
On both innings, Rahul failed to impress totally. If Indian team management wants to use Sundar as a batter, then Rahul may have to sit outside the field.
