He hits so many balls that his name has become “Hitman.” Rohit Sharma’s fame for hitting fours and sixes is well-known. But the one who flies high must come down to the ground too. Like Rohit Sharma, his name has now risen to the top of the record for most ducks.
Three batters have the most ducks in IPL history, with 18 each. Rohit is among them, alongside Dinesh Karthik and Glenn Maxwell. However, the Indian opener is slightly ahead of the others in one aspect. He had to play the most innings to score his 18th duck.

From Record Runs to Record ‘Ducks’ in IPL History
Rohit Sharma has been dismissed for ducks 18 times in 253 innings across 258 matches in the IPL, playing for both Mumbai Indians and Deccan Chargers. Among the three players with the most ducks, Glenn Maxwell has the fewest innings, with 18 ducks in just 129 innings. Dinesh Karthik’s 18 ducks came in 234 innings. Behind them, Piyush Chawla and Sunil Narine have both scored 16 ducks each.

Despite being tied at the top for the most ducks, Rohit is also one of the highest run-scorers in IPL history. He has scored 6,628 runs in 253 innings, with an average of 29.58 and a strike rate of 131.04.

Only Shikhar Dhawan (6,769) and Virat Kohli (8,063) have scored more runs than him. While it seems unlikely that Rohit will surpass Kohli in runs, he may face the risk of becoming the sole leader in ducks.
