New Zealand got an historic Test match win in Indian soil. Since 1988, this is the first time New Zealand has scripted a Test match win in India. Team India fought back against the visitors bravely in the second innings, but the setback team suffered in first inning was to much for India to overcome. After the first match, New Zealand now leading the three match test series to 1-0. Though Indian skipper Rohit Sharma not worried too much about the result. He said in the match after press conference that his team know how to bounce back.

“All in all, I thought except that first couple of hours, three hours, I thought we played very good Test cricket,” Rohit said.

“It’s very easy to let the game drift away, but this is not what this team is all about. We wanted to fight back and wanted to stay in the game as long as possible. After Day 1, nothing went our way. We got bowled out for 46, and then they were 190-odd for 3. For us, to start the second day well was very important and try and see if we can not let them get too far ahead of us. But, that partnership between Rachin and Southee went a little far ahead than we thought.”

He further added, “See, every time we play the first Test of a series, we don’t go in with ht mindset of playing casual cricket. It just happens to be that we lost against England. We came close and just lost by 20 runs there.”
