Sanju Samson again shut his critics mouths by scoring an aggressive century against Bangladesh in the third T20 match of the series. Team India coach Gautam Gambhir and T20 international captain Suryakumar Yadav helping Sanju boost his confidence, Sanju can get a huge role in the near future. Samson has expressed his desire to play Test matches for India.
Samson wants to be a player of all formats for team India. The talented batter hails from Kerala and made his T20 debut in 2015, while he played the first match in ODIs in 2021 for India. Samson is not a regular part of the team but has been successful in impressing with his performances.
After his stellar performances against Bangladesh, Samson is confident in his ability to succeed in Test cricket also. He expressed that team management has asked him to focus on first-class cricket. This indicates that he is present in the strategy to join the test team.
Samson said, “My preparation is going well at the moment. After the Sri Lanka series, I trained under the watches of Rahul Dravid sir and Zubin Bharucha and worked on my game. Scoring a century in the Duleep Trophy gave me confidence because it came against those who are among the best bowlers in the country.”
Samson will be seen playing for Kerala against Karnataka in the Ranji Trophy from October 18. He has played 64 firstclass matches in his career and has scored 3819 runs at an average of 38.96.

Before the Duleep Trophy, the leadership group had told me that they were considering me for red ball cricket and asked me to take it seriously and play more Ranji Trophy matches.”
