Along with marquee cricketers, the auction list contains many Indian young stars like Vaibhav Arora and Vyshak Vijaykumar. Both Vaibhav and Vijaykumar are considered bright pace bowlers in Indian domestic cricket; both have showcased their talents in the Indian Premier League. Bidding will start from Rs. 30 lakhs for these two bowlers.

Indian domestic bowlers are always in demand in the IPL

Vaibhav Arora and Vyshak Vijaykumar have put themselves in the 30 lakhs base price bracket of the mega auction. Indian domestic bowlers are always in demand in the IPL. Each team will need more than one promising uncapped seamer to strengthen the squad and a strong first-XI with a balance of overseas, capped, and uncapped Indian bowlers. Chances are very low for Arora and Vijaykumar to remain unsold, as they have already shown their skills with the ball for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore, respectively.

Vaibhav Arora

In IPL 2024, he secured eleven wickets while playing ten matches for Kolkata Knight Riders. Arora did not make it to the KKR player retention list, whereas Rinku Singh, Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, Varun Chankravarthy, Ramandeep Singh, and Harshit Rana will remain part of KKR. In numerous matches last season, Rana and Arora had excellent chemistry while playing for the Purple Brigade. Arora had his most successful IPL campaign in 2024 out of the three IPL seasons he has competed in. The right-arm medium-fast bowler, aged 26, is currently participating in the Ranji Trophy and has successfully secured wickets for Himachal Pradesh. He claimed three wickets in the match against Puducherry and secured one wicket against Vidarbha.

Vyshak Vijaykumar

Unlike Vaibhav Arora, Vyshak Vijaykumar had already received his maiden call-up for the senior national team camp during the ongoing India vs. South Africa T20I series. So far, the medium pacer from Karnataka, who is right-handed, has participated in 11 IPL matches for RCB and secured 13 wickets. Vyshak Vijaykumar, who is 27 years old, earned a starting position as a regular player for his state team in the Ranji Trophy. He claimed 4 wickets facing Bihar, 1 wicket against Kerala, and 2 wickets against Madhya Pradesh. Vyshak Vijaykumar, whose initial asking price begins at Rs. 30 lakhs, carries a great potential to draw in numerous purchasers for IPL 2025. RCB chose to keep just three players: Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, and Yash Dayal.
