India U19 vs  United Arab Emirates U19, Vaibhav Suryavanshi: 13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi from Bihar has created a stir in the ACC Under-19 Asia Cup being held in the United Arab Emirates. The youngest player sold in the IPL auction made a strong comeback in the third match after failing in the first two. Opening the innings with Ayush Mhatre in the match against UAE on Wednesday, he scored at a strike rate of 165.22 and smashed a stormy half-century to lead India to a 10-wicket victory.

The young opener faced 46 balls during his innings, scoring an unbeaten 76 runs, including 3 fours and 6 sixes. He was well-supported by Ayush Mhatre, who scored an unbeaten 67 runs off 51 balls, with four fours and four sixes. Thanks to the explosive batting of these two, India defeated UAE by 10 wickets, securing their second victory of the tournament.

Spectacular Comeback After Two Flops

13-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi from Bihar had a tough start in the ACC Under-19 Asia Cup, failing to impress in his first two matches. He scored just 1 run off 9 balls against Pakistan and managed only 23 runs against Japan. However, he made a spectacular comeback in the third match, scoring an unbeaten 76 runs to lead India to a 10-wicket victory.

Vaibhav’s IPL Journey: Bought for 1.10 Crores by Rajasthan Royals

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, born on 27 March 2011 in Tajpur village, Bihar, was bought by Rajasthan Royals in the IPL auction for Rs 1.10 crore, making him the youngest player to be sold in IPL history at the age of 13 years and 8 months. Vaibhav’s cricketing journey began at the age of 5, with his father, Sanjeev Suryavanshi, also a former state-level cricketer, playing a key role in his early development.

Record-Breaking Youth Test Century

In addition to his IPL success, Vaibhav made a record by scoring a century in just 58 balls in a Youth Test match against Australia. He has also become the fastest Indian batsman to score a century in a Youth Test, showcasing his extraordinary talent at a young age.

India’s Dominant Victory Over UAE

In the match against UAE, India chased down a modest target of 138 runs in just 16.1 overs. UAE, after being asked to bat first, was restricted to 137 runs in 44 overs, with Yudhjeet Guha taking 3 wickets, and Chetan Sharma and Hardik Raj claiming 2 wickets each. The highest scorer for UAE was Ryan Khan with 35 runs.

India’s Position in ACC U19 Asia Cup 2024

With this win, India moved to the top of Group A in the ACC Under-19 Asia Cup, with two wins and one loss. The Indian team, with 4 points, has now qualified for the next round. India’s campaign started with a 43-run defeat against Pakistan but followed it up with a big 211-run victory over Japan.
