New Delhi: Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag’s family is facing a tough time as his younger brother, Vinod Sehwag, has been arrested by the police. Reports suggest that Vinod Sehwag is involved in a case related to a bounced check worth ₹7 crore. Since he failed to appear in court, he was declared an absconder.
Arrest and Legal Proceedings
Vinod Sehwag was taken into custody by the police from the Manimajra police station in Chandigarh. The case pertains to a bounced check worth ₹7 crore, and he was required to present himself before the court. However, after skipping court appearances, he was officially declared an absconder.
According to reports from Hindustan Times, after his arrest, Vinod was immediately presented before the court. Following the hearing, the court sent him to judicial custody.
Bail Hearing and Possible Release
Vinod Sehwag’s lawyer has already filed a bail application on his behalf. However, the court has not granted bail yet. His bail hearing is scheduled for March 10, when the court will decide whether he will be released. Until then, he will remain in police custody.

Virender Sehwag comes from a large family with four siblings, including both brothers and sisters. His sisters are older than him, while Vinod is his younger brother.

Virender Sehwag is known for his outstanding cricket career. He represented India in 251 One Day Internationals (ODIs), scoring 8,273 runs, including 15 centuries and one double century. As a part-time bowler, he also took 96 wickets in ODIs.
