Shreyas Iyer & KL Rahul Played Key Roles in the Chase
India’s chase started well with Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill, but the team faced pressure after losing three quick wickets. Virat Kohli was dismissed for just one run, putting India in a tricky situation. However, a vital 61-run partnership between Shreyas Iyer and Axar Patel stabilized the innings. Iyer played an important knock of 48 runs, while Axar contributed 29 runs.
Later, KL Rahul played a composed innings of 34 runs*, ensuring India stayed on track. Towards the end, Hardik Pandya chipped in with 18 runs off 18 balls, making the chase easier. India secured a four-wicket victory, winning the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in style.
