India had a chance to qualify for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 if Pakistan emerged victorious against New Zealand. But Pakistan women’s team failed to defeat New Zealand Women’s team and knocked out team India from the group stage of ongoing T20 World Cup. As Pakistan loose and India out of race, Australia and New Zealand qualified for the semifinals.
Pakistan dropped a number of eight catches against NZ Women’s team. Clear desaster in the fielding. Pakistan dropped catches in the 5th (4.2), 6th (5.2), 8th (7.3), 16th (15.5), and 18th (17.2) overs, while three catches were grasped in the 20th (19.1, 19.3 and 19.5) over alone.
World Cup winner and former team India bowler Munaf Patel couldn’t hold himself to make comment after such lackluster in field. He wrote from his ‘X’ account, “You know how many catches where dropped by #Pakistan in today’s match.”

New Zealand emerged victorious in the Women’s T20 World Cup against Pakistan winning by 54 runs. New Zealand batted first and set a target of 111 runs. Suzie Bates top scorer for NZ in this match, she played an innings of 28 runs. Pakistan’s spinners performed well against New Zealand. Nashra Sandhu took 3 wickets only for 18 runs. But poor fielding made situation worse for Pakistan.
In the second innings, Pakistan’s batting struggled from the beginning. They were bowled out for just 56 runs. Only two batters from the line-up Fatima Sana (21) and Muneeba Ali (15) got double digits runs. New Zealand’s bowlers, led by Amelia Kerr (3/14) and Eden Carson (2/7), dominated the Pakistani lineup.
