The captains of all the IPL teams will gather at the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai on March 20. According to reports, the team manager is also expected to be present in the captains’ meeting which will be held 2 days before the start of the league. However, this is being seen as a photo shoot of the captains before the start of IPL. But, there is a question about this because usually the captains’ photo shoots take place at the place where the league’s season starts. That means its first match is played. But, this is not the case with IPL 2025.

IPL 2025 is starting from Kolkata. But, according to reports, the captains have been called to the BCCI headquarters in Mumbai. This is the first time in the history of IPL that the BCCI has taken such a decision. In such a situation, there are speculations that the matter is much more than their photo shoot. This gathering of captains seems to be much more important than the review of normal rules.

IPL captains gather at one place

According to the email sent by BCCI and IPL management to the franchises, this meeting will last for an hour, in which it is believed that the teams will be informed about the new rules and changes for the new season. After the meeting, sponsor activities will be held at the Taj Hotel. According to the email, the captains’ meeting will be held on March 20 from 12 noon. In total, the event is expected to last for four hours.

10 teams, 10 captains and IPL

Talking about the captains of all the teams, Delhi Capitals has recently appointed Akshar Patel as the captain. Apart from him, Hardik Pandya (MI), Pat Cummins (SRH), Rituraj Gaikwad (CSK), Rajat Patidar (RCB), Rishabh Pant (LSG), Shreyas Iyer (PBKS), Sanju Samson (RR), Ajinkya Rahane (KKR), and Shubman Gill (GT) are the remaining 9 captains. IPL 2024 will begin on March 22 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, where champions Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore will face each other.
