After three-match test series against New Zealand, India has to play a five match Border Gavaskar Trophy against Australia in their home soil. That will be a hard battle for Team India to win. Speculations are roaming around team India and young pace sensetion mayank Yadav, whether he will travel to Australia or not. India test team captain Rohit Sharma has given a hint about Mayank Yadav’s availability in the BGT.

Before India vs. New Zealand first test match in Bengaluru, captain Rohit Sharma indicated in the press conference before the Test series against New Zealand, team has a strong pool of batsmen and he wants to build a similar powerhouse in the fast bowling line-up, so that injuries do not affect the balance of the team. Mohammed Shami’s fitness remains a concern. So BCCI and the team have mostly to relay on young talents.

Rohit Sharma said on Tuesday evening, “As far as batting is concerned, we have a lot of options. That’s what we want to do in bowling as well. We want to have a bench strength where tomorrow if something happens to someone, we don’t have to worry,” he said. “We want to look to the future and try to make sure we get the right people.”

BCCI selectors have picked fast bowlers Mayank Yadav, Harshit Rana, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Prasidh Krishna as travel reserves for the three-test series against New Zealand. Rohit said about Mayank Yadav, “Mayank has shown what he can do. But we want to be careful with that. He has had many injuries in the past, so we want to take him forward, not fast. Just watch every day how he is, try to increase his workload with the red ball. For us, it’s about grooming him slowly rather than bringing him directly into international cricket.”
