WTC 2025 Final: Team India has faced a setback against New Zealand in the World Test Championship. The Blackcaps have stopped team India’s momentum in the competition by defeating them in the three-match Test series. Rohit Sharma-led team India suffered a 113-run defeat against the Tom Latham-led side, which led to the loss of a Test series at home in 12 years. India is a hot favorite to reach the WTC 2025 final. India previously qualified for the final match two times but had no luck in grabbing the trophy.

On the first occasion in 2021, Kane Williamson’s New Zealand defeated India with ease by 8 wickets. In 2023, the WTC final match was between India and Australia. This time, team India was a heavy contender for the championship; they played the entire tournament with confidence and then reached the final match. But this time, the Australians took all the limelight by upholding the WTC 2023 trophy.

Despite falling short of New Zealand, India is still the frontrunner to enter the final. Rohit and Co. remain top of the WTC 2025 points table, though they lost the three-match test series to New Zealand. There is another match to play in the series. The third test will be held in Wankhede, Mumbai, from November 1. Gautam Gambhir’s coached team will try their best to end the series with something to cheer about.

After the series against New Zealand, team India will fly to Australia to play the Border Gavaskar Trophy, where India and Australia will lock horns in five test matches. In recent times, Australia has given a tough fight to India; the ICC ODI final is one of them, where India lost against Pat Cummins’s team. India, after the two home match defeats, has 62.82 percent points; Australia, in second place, inches away from team India, has 62.5 percent points with their name.
