Team India’s star batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal may have been dismissed for 30 runs on the second day of the Pune Test, but he has achieved a special record. Yashasvi became the second batter to complete 1,000 runs in Tests in 2024.

Joe Root is at the top of this list. Root has scored 1305 runs in 14 Tests at an average of 60. He has scored 5 centuries and 4 half-centuries this year. Root made his highest score of 262 runs in the Test played against Pakistan in Multan this year.

Yashasvi Jaiswal has scored 1007 runs in 10 Tests so far in 2024 at an average of 59.23 and a strike rate of 76. He scored a high score of 214 against England in the Rajkot Test earlier this year. Earlier, he also scored 209 runs in the Vizag Test. Needless to say, Jaiswal’s season in Test cricket was tremendous. Jaiswal scored 171 runs in the debut Test against the West Indies last year. Ben Duckett is third in terms of scoring the most runs in Tests this year. He has scored 957 runs. Shubman Gill also has 692 runs in 9 Tests.

In the current Test series against New Zealand, Yashasvi has not yet scored a big score, although he has started well, but failed to convert it into a big innings. In the first Test match at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, this star player scored 13 and 35 runs. India lost the Test match by 8 wickets and trailed 0-1 in the series. In the opening innings of the second Test, Jaiswal looked in good form, but was dismissed once again.

He hit four fours and scored 30 runs off 60 balls. Glenn Phillips dismissed him when Jaiswal’s ball hit the outside edge in the slip cordon and went straight into the hands of Daryl Mitchell. It is speculated that Jaiswal will be crucial for India’s upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
