Haryana budget: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini is presenting his first budget as Finance Minister. For the first time in history, he has presented a budget of Rs 2 lakh 5 thousand 17 crores for the state. Last year, former Chief Minister Manohar Lal had presented a budget of Rs 1.89 lakh crores. This time the budget has increased by 13.7% i.e. 16 thousand crores.
Big announcements for players
Chief Minister Nayab Saini said in his budget speech that national and international level players will be insured up to Rs 20 lakh. Olympic medal winning players will get Rs 10 lakh to start their own business. From April 1, players will get diet money of Rs 500 instead of Rs 400.
He said that if Olympic medal winning players want to open a sports academy in their district, the government will provide a loan of up to 5 crores and will also get the benefit of 2% subsidy. Under the Khiladi Bima Yojana, national and international players will be insured up to 20 lakhs. The government will pay its premium.
Akhadas will be given cash prize
The CM said that Olympic medal winners of Haryana will be given assistance of up to 10 lakhs for their business. If they do not want to do business, they will be given employment as skill trainers. The government will give a reward of 50 lakhs, 30 lakhs and 20 lakhs to the 3 best akhadas every year.

Players will receive an increase in diet money from Rs 400 to Rs 500 starting from April 1.
Olympic medalists interested in opening sports academies in their districts will be provided with loans of up to Rs 5 crore, with a 2% subsidy on the loan.
In addition, Olympic medal-winning players will receive a one-time assistance of up to Rs 10 lakh for their businesses or employment opportunities as skill trainers.
Furthermore, the government has announced a reward of Rs 50 lakh, Rs 30 lakh, and Rs 20 lakh for the top three akhadas in the state every year. These measures aim to support the growth of sports, enhance athletes’ welfare, and encourage future champions.
