Market Committee Secretary Narendra Dhul said that due to high moisture in the mustard crop, the purchasing agency has not started this government purchase. Its purchase is to be done by the Hafed agency.
It is worth noting that the government had decided to do the government purchase of mustard from March 15 as per the scheduled time, but till now not even a single heap has been purchased at the government rate.
Let us tell you that this time the government has fixed the price of mustard at Rs 5950 per quintal. Along with Kaithal New Grain Market, Kalayat, Pundri and Rajound Grain Market have been made the centers for the purchase of mustard. Farmers cultivate mustard more in Kalayat, Pundri and Rajound area, although this time farmers have cultivated less mustard compared to last year.
Disappointment is growing among farmers over the delay in government procurement of mustard. In this situation, the mustard procurement that was to start from March 15 by the government has not been done yet. This time the government has fixed the minimum support price (MSP) of mustard at Rs 5950 per quintal. Centers have been set up in Kaithal, Kalayat, Pundri and Rajound grain markets, where farmers can sell mustard.
Although mustard cultivation has decreased this time compared to last year, the wait of the farmers is getting longer. In such a situation, if the procurement process does not start soon, then the difficulty may increase for the farmers.
