Pension Update: Major news for lakhs of pensioners. Five lakh pensioners and about seven lakh thirty thousand government employees of Madhya Pradesh are waiting for the increase in dearness allowance (DA) from July 2024, but till now the state government has not taken any decision in this regard. State Executive President of Madhya Pradesh Teachers Congress Swaroop Narayan Chaturvedi has written a letter to the Chief Minister demanding to provide revised dearness allowance (DA) to the pensioners and employees of the state as per the central government.
Chaturvedi said that the central government has issued orders to give a total of 55 percent DA in cash to its pensioners and employees with an increase of 3 percent in dearness allowance from July 2024 and 2 percent from January 2025. Whereas the Madhya Pradesh government is giving only 50 percent DA from January 2024.
He also clarified that while the central government had issued orders 10 months ago, the state government has not been able to take any decision on it till now. This has caused anger and disappointment among pensioners and employees.
Allowance will increase after 15 years
Recently, the government has made a big announcement for the employees of Madhya Pradesh state. The government has approved the changes in allowances. House Rent Allowance (HRA) will be given by the government on the basis of the basic salary of the seventh pay scale. In which there will be an increase of 10% in A category cities, 7% in B category cities and 5% in C and D category cities.
At the same time, there will be an increase in daily allowance, conveyance allowance, food allowance and allowance for permanent travel. Allowance will also be given on the basis of inflation for carrying household goods upon transfer.
