State cm makes a big announcement regarding Dearness Allowance or DA. The Tripura government has rolled out a 30% Dearness Allowance (DA) for employees covering the period from 2022 to 2024, and they’re working hard to close the DA gap, as announced by Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha today. During an event at Rabindra Bhavan celebrating the second anniversary of the BJP-led government’s second term, the CM reiterated the administration’s dedication to upholding employee rights.
Recently, state government employees and pensioners have been quite vocal about their outstanding dues, and there’s been a rising call for a state pay commission. It’s worth noting that the first BJP government in Tripura didn’t follow through on the 7th Pay Commission report as promised.
While addressing the crowd, CM Manik Saha highlighted that his government is making strides to reduce the DA gap. By October 31, the 16th Finance Commission from the central government is expected to present the estimated expenditures for various states, which will include the committed expenses for DA/DR for employees and pensioners.
If the Tripura government manages to settle the pending DA/DR before this report is submitted, it will be officially recognized as committed spending, which would provide long-term financial backing for the state.
