Online Mobile Shopping Sites in India – Bumper Sale in Festive Season!

As soon as the festive season arrives, there is a boom of sales on online shopping sites. This time too, nothing was different, especially the purchase of mobile and electronics saw a tremendous jump. E-commerce companies like Flipkart and Amazon made record-breaking sales in the first week itself. Let us know which products were in the highest demand this time and which offers attracted the customers the most.

How much business was done in online sale?

According to a Datum Intelligence report, the total sales of e-commerce companies reached ₹54,500 crore at the beginning of this year’s festive season. This was 26% more than last year.

Mobile phones, electronics and consumer durables accounted for the highest sales. These include:

Mobile phones – 38% sales
Electronics and consumer durables – 21% sales

Dominance of iPhone and Samsung

This time Apple iPhone 16 and its older models sold tremendously in the online sale. After the prices of older models of iPhones fell on both Flipkart and Amazon, there was a rush to buy among the customers. Samsung Galaxy S23 FE was also a huge hit on Flipkart. This proves that Indian customers are now showing more inclination towards premium smartphones.

Big discount on expensive mobile phones

During the festive sale, there was a huge jump in the sales of smartphones above ₹ 30,000. Mobile sales were a bit slow on the first day of Flipkart’s Big Billion Days and Amazon’s Great Indian Festival, but increased rapidly after that. The biggest reason for this was – big discounts and attractive exchange offers. Apart from this, many customers are also taking advantage of EMI and no-cost EMI options.

There was also tremendous demand for other electronics

Not just mobiles, sales of consumer durables like double-door refrigerators, smart TVs, 5-star ACs, washing machines, and microwaves also saw a massive jump. As per the report, more than 50% of customers made purchases on EMI, especially from smaller cities and towns. Amazon’s report shows that 70% of sales of premium smartphones and 80% of television purchases came from tier-2 and tier-3 cities.
