Aesthetic Elegance

The Vivo V27 Pro boasts a tall and stunning design with a curved display and minimal bezels. The Magic Blue variant we reviewed showcases a captivating color-shifting back panel.

The rectangular camera frame on the rear side, housing three lenses and a circular LED flash, adds a touch of modernity. The front side is dominated by an all-display screen with a punch hole in the center. Notably, the under-display fingerprint sensor is both accurate and swift.

The phone’s premium look is enhanced by its curved edges and tall frame, providing a comfortable yet stylish grip. With a lightweight build, prolonged usage remains effortless.

The button placement is consistent with previous models, maintaining the power button and volume rockers on the right side. The top side features a secondary mic for noise cancellation, while the bottom houses the SIM tray, USB-C port, and speaker grille.

Display

The Vivo V27 Pro features a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. The bezel-less design offers a cinematic experience, complemented by the vivid, bright, and punchy colors.

The Smart switch mode adapts the refresh rate based on usage requirements, ensuring optimal performance, especially during gaming. The display remains visible even under bright daylight, enhancing the overall user experience.

Glimpse into Android 13

Running on Android 13 with Funtouch OS v13, the V27 Pro introduces an improved operating system compared to its predecessor. While offering enhanced functionality, the overall user interface experience remains familiar.

Processor

Equipped with MediaTek’s Dimensity 8200 chipset, the Vivo V27 Pro handles tasks effortlessly with its eight cores. The HyperEngine 6.0, supporting Vulkan SDK for raytracing in gaming, enhances the gaming experience. Despite its capabilities, the absence of the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, present in the OnePlus 11R, is a notable miss, especially considering the price point.

Camera

The V27 Pro’s camera setup includes a 50MP Sony IMX766 Quad-Bayer sensor, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro camera. Daylight images showcase impressive color balance and detail. The 2x zoom provides generous detail, while the ultrawide and macro lenses deliver great dynamic range. Night mode is recommended for low-light photography. The 50MP selfie camera excels in maintaining natural tones and performs well in low-light conditions.

Battery

With a 4,600mAh battery, the V27 Pro ensures a full day of usage on a single charge. The 66W fast wired charging feature replenishes the battery from 0-100% in approximately an hour, catering to gaming and multimedia enthusiasts.

Verdict

The Vivo V27 Pro impresses with its design, display, and camera capabilities, coming close to flagship status. However, the absence of a Qualcomm processor puts it slightly behind competitors like the OnePlus 11R. Despite this, the V27 Pro remains a compelling option, especially for those valuing aesthetics and camera performance.
