Hero Motocorp: Hero Zoom 125R and the company will launch the Zoom 125R and Zoom 160 maxi-scooters in the country in the second half of the current financial year.

Many models have been launched in the last year

Since its inception, Hero MotoCorp has been the leader in the entry-level, 100-110cc segment and was struggling in the premium market due to limited models. However, last year the company focused its attention on 125cc and premium segments. The company launched the highest number of products in FY24, including the Xtreme 125R, Xtreme 200S 4V, Xtreme 160R 4V, co-developed Harley-Davidson X440, Karizma XMR and Maverick 440.

What did the company say?

Hero MotoCorp management says the company will further strengthen its scooter portfolio by launching 125cc and 160cc variants of the Xoom as well as the new model of the Xoom 110 in the first half of the current financial year. Niranjan Gupta, CEO, Hero MotoCorp, believes that these new launches and expansion of new format stores – Premia and Hero 2.0 – will drive volume growth and market share in the premium and 125cc segments. The company is increasing the production capacity of the 440cc platform and Karizma to 10,000 units per month in the next one to two months. By June-July the capacity of Extreme will also be increased to 1,000 per day.

Company will launch new products

“There will be some more products coming, in terms of broad spectrum, Hero MotoCorp will largely cover the white space (in ICE two-wheelers) by the end of March 2025,” the CEO said. “Going forward, we will continue to grow volumes, expand operating profit and aggressively grow our premium portfolio,” the company’s management said in a post-earnings investor call.
