Land Rover EV: The electric variant of Range Rover SUV is going to be launched in the market very soon. The model is being designed with ICE engines as well as electric powertrains in addition to plug-in hybrid tech. This shows that the automaker is expecting strong demand for the upcoming offering. This can be gauged from the fact that even before its launch, the pending orders for 2025 Range Rover Electric are more than 28,000.
As for the Range Rover Electric, Land Rover has also revealed that demand for the Range Rover SUV is set to double in fiscal year 2024 from 4,099 units sold in the previous fiscal year. This includes 20 units of the bespoke Range Rover SV Sadaf variant launched exclusively in Qatar.
Land Rover had previously said that its first electric offering would be the quietest and most refined Range Rover ever. This model will retain its design and capabilities. The automaker has shared a clear glimpse of the new RR. The Land Rover EV is testing deserts of Arctic and Middle East.
The Range Rover Electric will retain its luxurious cabin with a new design as well as the water wading, towing and all-terrain technology seen on ICE derivatives. The upcoming offering will be based on 800-volt architecture, which will support fast charging on the electric luxury SUV.
The Range Rover Electric is scheduled to be unveiled later this year. Reports suggest that Land Rover is looking to manufacture its range locally at its parent Tata Motors plant in India (Tamil Nadu). Although there has been no confirmation from the company, this move by the British automaker will probably be a bold move to reduce the prices of many imports.
