Mahindra XUV.e9 Espionage: In an effort to establish a strong hold on the electric vehicle segment in India and take indigenous products global, Mahindra is rolling out the XUV.e and BE range of vehicles. Recently, an almost production ready model of Mahindra XUV.e9 was seen on the Coimbatore-Salem Highway in Tamil Nadu, in which lighting elements are visible in the front part of the car.
Mahindra XUV700 Coupe EV Front LED DRL Spied
The XUV.e9 is the coupe version of the XUV.e8, which is the electric version of the existing XUV700 on sale in India. It is the flagship offering from Mahindra’s XUV.e lineup and promises great performance with metrics like a top speed of 200+ km/h. This car has Mahindra’s new design language which is different from any other car of the company.
Front and exterior design
The taillights, side profile and front trunk area of the XUV.e9 have been spotted before and this is the first time that the front end of the XUV.e9 has been seen in detail. The previous spy photos of the XUV.e9 had more coverage, covering almost everything.
The facia features large LED DRLs in a double-edged boomerang shape. Something similar was seen in the recently launched XUV 3XO sub 4 meter SUV. The LED DRLs are not connected to a dedicated light bar in the middle. The headlights have been adjusted vertically, and it looks almost identical to what we saw on the XUV.e8 (non-coupe version).
At the front, the number plates are on the top and the radar module for ADAS is located in the lower bumper. Overall its face looks quite similar to the XUV.e8. But design differences like the central LED light bar can be found on the XUV.e8.
There is more difference in design on the side. The XUV.e9 gets a unique sloping roof design. The side profile of the XUV.e8 is similar to the rear, the XUV.e9 has distinctive design details, while the test model of the
Interior design
On the inside, both the XUV.e8 and XUV.e9 have similar interiors. The dashboard is almost the same as seen on the XUV700. However, the new model uses a third 10-25-inch touchscreen display for the front passenger. It also gets a new two-spoke steering wheel that looks similar to the one offered with the Tata Nexon and Punch EV. The new center console is also better with the new design.
Powertrain
Talking about powertrain, Mahindra XUV.e9 will have a battery of 60 kWh to 80 kWh.Which will have single-motor and dual-motor options, which will be capable of giving a range of about 600 kilometers once fully charged. It can be introduced with the Thar Armada on August 15.
