New Swift engine will also be available in Desire
It is believed that the next generation Dzire will be built on the Heartect platform of the new Swift. Along with this, many components will also be shared between the two cars. In the new Swift, the company has used the new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated Z-series petrol engine. It generates 82 PS of power and 112 Nm of peak torque. It replaced the 4-cylinder K-series unit. The new engine is equipped with 5-speed manual transmission and 5-speed AMT transmission. The engine figures of the Dzire will also remain the same.
Many other features will also be available in Swift
The new Dzire has other features from the new Swift like a new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless smartphone connectivity, wireless charger, 6 airbags as standard, ESP, hill hold control, auto climate control, rear parking sensors, reverse camera, Cruise control. These include electrically adjustable ORVMs, LED headlights and LED taillights, newly designed LED DRLs and LED fog lamps.
Mileage will be slightly less than Swift
Regarding the new Swift, the company claims that the mileage of its petrol MT variant is 24.8 km per liter and the mileage of petrol AMT is 25.75 km per liter. It is believed that the mileage of Desire may be slightly less than this. However, it is also expected that the company may also launch a CNG variant of Dzire along with petrol.
Sunroof is expected to be available in Dzire
The special thing about the models seen during testing on Indian roads is that one of them had a sunroof, which means it can also get a sunroof. It is expected that the price of the new Swift will be slightly higher than the current model. Actually, DZire is the crown of its segment. No one can come close to it in terms of sales. Nevertheless, in the Indian market it will compete with models like Honda Amaze and Hyundai Aura.
