Narendra Modi’s oath-taking ceremony: Narendra Modi is going to take the oath as Prime Minister for the third consecutive time on Sunday. This ceremony will be full of grandeur, and preparations are in full swing for it.

Heads of state from seven neighbouring countries have also been invited on this historic occasion. Many important leaders, including Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Maldives President Mohammad Muizzu, will attend this swearing-in ceremony on June 9. The Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement on Saturday that these leaders are visiting India under our “Neighbour First” policy.

Leaders attending the swearing-in ceremony

Apart from Sheikh Hasina and Muizzu, other leaders attending the ceremony include Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Seychelles Vice President Ahmed Afeef, Mauritius Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jagannath, Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, and Bhutan Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay. This ceremony will not only be a symbol of India’s strong foreign policy, but it will also be a testimony to our strong relations with our neighbours.

Apart from the swearing-in ceremony, these leaders will also attend a banquet hosted by President Draupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Sunday evening. This banquet will not only be a social occasion but will also strengthen India’s foreign relations. However, it is not yet clear whether PM Modi will hold separate bilateral meetings with these leaders.

Invitation to Maldives President Muizzu

Inviting Maldives President Mohammed Muizzu was a surprise move. India and the Maldives have had tense relations since his election last year.

Muizzu has taken several steps to bring the Maldives closer to China, including the withdrawal of more than 85 military personnel from India. He has signed agreements with Turkey and China for the supply of food items and defence equipment.

Bangladesh and Seychelles leaders reach Delhi

Let us tell you that Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the Seychelles President have reached New Delhi on Saturday. All other leaders will arrive on Sunday only. Nepal Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal will reach New Delhi about four hours before the swearing-in ceremony.
