Upcoming cars: Maruti Suzuki’s new compact MPV is expected to be introduced in the Indian market by 2026. It will be placed below the Ertiga. The Renault Triber MPV, which was first launched in the Indian market in 2019, has not received any major updates yet. The Japanese carmaker is set to introduce a new MPV in its portfolio in collaboration with Renault.
Maruti Suzuki’s compact MPV
Maruti Suzuki’s new compact MPV is expected to be introduced in the Indian market by 2026. It will be positioned below the Ertiga, allowing for an efficient and affordable sticker price. Codenamed YDB, this compact MPV will be based on the Suzuki Spacia sold in the international markets. The MPV is expected to use the 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Z-series petrol engine that recently debuted in the new generation Swift.
New generation Renault Triber
The Renault Triber MPV, which was first launched in the Indian market in 2019, has not received any major updates yet. Currently the most affordable 7-seater offering in the Indian market, the Triber got a minor feature update in January for the year 2024 and its range starts at Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
This compact MPV is now going to get a generation update and we expect it to arrive sometime in the year 2025-2026. However, no specific information has been revealed yet about the new generation Triber.
New nissan mpv
The Japanese carmaker is set to introduce a new MPV in its portfolio in collaboration with Renault. According to reports, the compact MPV will be based on the Renault Triber and will be a little under 4 meters long. We expect Nissan to make significant changes to the package to differentiate it from its Renault counterpart. However, the underpinnings are going to remain the same along with the powertrain options.
