RBI has issued new ₹100 and ₹200 notes, which have better security features and attractive designs.
The new ₹100 note is lavender in color and has a picture of Rani Ki Vav in Gujarat, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The new ₹200 note is yellow in colour and features an image of Sanchi Stupa in Madhya Pradesh, an ancient Buddhist monument.
The new notes include advanced security features such as watermarks, microletters and UV-visible elements.
The RBI has clarified that the old ₹100 and ₹200 notes are still valid and there is no need to replace them.
The new notes are aimed at combating counterfeit currency and making it easier for citizens to identify notes.
The improved security features and design in the new notes will strengthen the financial security of the country.
